History
It was written in a journal entitled “The Journal Of The Indian Archipelago And Eastern Asia by JR Logan (1858) that the Kesang River is famous for its oysters. The journal says that” The mouth of the river estuary is famous for its oysters beds, the fish being very large and of excellent flavor “. Sungai Kassang is known as Sungai Kesang. It was formerly located in Muar District, but is now under the administration of Tangkak district. Below is an extract of the journal:
